All around the country bee keepers are asking the question, "Why are the bees disappearing?" So far this decline in bee population is only affecting the Honey Bee (apis mellifera). Bee keepers in more than 20 states have been reporting abandoned hives and bees wandering in circles. The Honey Bee is the main pollinator of our countries commercial crops, such as apples, almonds, berries, melons and other crops.

Scientist looking into the problem of the diminishing number of Honey Bees speculate the cause could be from wide spread pesticides used by the bee keepers to kill the mites that attack the bees. These mites are deadly reddish brown parasites called the Varroa mite. Another thing to think about is the diminishing food supply for the bees that of clover and flowers caused by the continuing growth of cities with the removal of open fields and lots where this type of vegetation grows.

Could the answer to this pressing problem be found in the large amount of chemicals found in our environment that is not only hurting us but also the animal and insect kingdoms? As my son and I worked recently on building my workshop cottage we noticed that when glue mainly liquid nails or paint was in use, we were being buzzed by bees. They didn't attack us. The bees were attracted to the synthetic scent. Instead of stinging us they fluttered around in circles like they were drunk. Could it be that the chemicals in our environment has intoxicated our honey bees to the point of annihilation?

One of the greatest minds in the world, Albert Einstein once said, "If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left." If humankind is to survive the Honey Bee needs to survive also. It is way past time for cleaning up our environment. Each day more chemicals are being developed in the wake of progress but what kind of progress are we really making, one for the advancement of life or one for the slow death of all life.

As the sun sets on yet another spirit new year the day known as All Saints day, the portals between worlds are wide open for viewing. So once again as I watch the shift in energy the forecast for 2009 is made known. 2009 will be a year known for the 3 C's, Choice, Change and Caring. It will be a year full of choices that will impact nations. On a personal level it will be your choice as to whether you chose to take your journey down the path of spiritual harmony or will you chose the course of selfishness that will only lead to more change. The choice will be yours and the energy that comes from that choice will affect the planet. You are wondering how your choice will affect the planet since you are only one person. Well your energy will connect with someone else who makes that same choice and the energy grows. If it is an energy of balance the planet will react with balancing her energies. If it grows to chaos from so many making selfish choices like in the past, then the energy will be one of destructiveness. Our energy connects like strains of string around the world. If the strains are covered with negative energy the strains begin to get heavy and start to squeeze the earth. If the strains are full of positive energy it becomes like a light bubble around the earth. In 2002 when I was guided to write the book "Legendaries's Great Gathering" I was shown that human energy is so strong that it will change how things happen to the planet. Mother Earth is going to continue her cycle of purification but it is human energy that will usher in the type of cleansing that will take place.

The year 2009 a very powerful year and a time for a peacemaker to rule. The Angels have sworn to help humans if enough of us move in the direction of healing the planet as we create an energy of universal enlightenment. This is a year for you to really embrace your true spiritual abilities and as you do so remember the dark energy will be right there to try to stop you. Learn to be more patient with yourself and others as you find your center. In becoming more patient you become more aware and you are able to help and care for those who will be reaching out for help. If you want this world to be a better place for your children and grandchildren then you need to care about what kind of energy you are sending out now. In continuing the talk about plants for those who have not checked out the books in our content section, let me tell you about two really helpful books to have in your collection, especially during these time of enlightenment. The natural way of taking care of the human body has been proving to be the safest way of maintaining health.

When I was working on my Master Herbalism degree back in the 1980's I found very little information on the use of trees for health. So I sat down and wrote the book " A Tree for Health". The other book I was asked to write is a book on things in your kitchen. The many different mothers that I have come in contact with throughout the years have asked that I create an easy to follow health book that they could use. The book is called "Your Kitchen Medicine Chest". You cook with herbs which are plants but how much do you know about them? Have you even bothered to find out why they are considered to be a high source of antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds that can neutralize destructive free radicals that can cause cancer among illnesses. In stead of looking to your nearest pharmacy for this kind of help look to your kitchen spice rack.

These books are more than just a good source of reading material. It is information to be treasured by your whole household. It is especially a must have for those feeling caught in a never-ending cycle of overproduction, overconsumption, prodigal waste, waste-disposal problems and pollution, who wish to live in harmony with nature.
